In 1948 my father, Dwight Nelson, fulfilled a dream by starting, a cow-calf operation, that has come to be known as the Lazy N Ranch. Dwight bought and developed 100% native grass and brome pastures located in the northern reaches of the Flint Hills near Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. KSU is home to many of the leading animal scientists in the world. In 1997 we began to specialize in embryo transplant and marketing of pregnant recipients. The cattle are managed in a natural environment focused on quality and service.
